COVID-19 nasal testing + the next steps

Q. Where do I get my test results?

A. The nasal swab is available at AnyCare24. However, if you’ve been tested by the Wilson County Health Department they will provide you with their results contact information/number, and it is important for them to reach you regarding your results for tracking purposes. If you’ve not heard you results within the specified period of time, please contact them at 615-444-5325.

Q. What is the COVID hotline number 615-450-8259 for?

A. It is extremely important that everyone who has concerns about COVID talks to a healthcare professional. This number is available only for those who have gone to the testing process so you can arrange the important healthcare follow-up that you need.

Q. Who needs to call and get follow-up?

A. Follow-up is strongly recommended for anyone who has any respiratory, chest, sinus, or flu-like symptoms. It is also extremely important for anyone who is presently without symptoms but has received a positive test result. Please call!

Q. I’ve heard that there’s no treatment for COVID-19, so what’s the point?

A. Not true! We are learning more about the virus every week. Based on multiple factors including personal health history, your current living situation, and who else you’ve been around there are many important decisions to make over the next 2 weeks or so. Failure to do so could literally be a difference between life and death. Please call!

Q. How much will follow-up cost me?

A. Any visits or follow-up that is scheduled by calling the COVID hotline will be free to you. The government has mandated that Coronavirus-specific care be covered by your insurance with no out-of-pocket expense to you. (this means even your co-pay is waived). If you do not have insurance, our dedicated team at Anycare 24 will be providing this service without charge as a way we can give back to our community during this crisis.

Q. What is involved with follow-up care?

A. Your first visit you’ll be asked to drive to the clinic at 702 South Cumberland street in Lebanon (in front of Lowes hardware store) for a physical curbside evaluation. We will likely ask you to stay in your car. Getting your name, symptoms, COVID-status, insurance, and best contact information will help ensure that the process goes as smoothly as possible. For the next 2 weeks or so you will be monitored closely by phone. We will call you for telemedicine visits using Face time, Google duo, Zoom, Skype or other video methods every 2 days to ensure you don’t have any progressing symptoms and give you advice for treatment if you do.

Q. Why do I need to follow-up if I don’t have any symptoms?

A. This virus affects everyone differently, and we have seen firsthand that many people do not understand when they should and should not go to the hospital. Without talking with a healthcare professional, citizens may likely overwhelm the emergency rooms and expose others unnecessarily to COVID, or worse- they stay at home and do not realize that they are in danger and wait until it’s too late. Please call. Get the advice for yourself and others! It’s free to you!

Q. My work says I can’t come back without a doctor’s note. Can I get one?

A. Yes, after you complete your follow-up course with us, we can write, fax, or call a note for you wherever you like.

Q. I already have a primary care doctor. Can’t their office handle all this?

A. We do have some of the best general practice doctors in our area! While it is important keep your primary care doctor informed, still a few may not be comfortable, readily available, or understand all the most current recommendations regarding this outbreak. Please be sure to contact them right away to make sure you get all of the follow-up that is recommended for you.
